From January 29 – February 1, 2024, educational leaders and school owners from throughout Africa met in Cambridge, UK to learn about new ideas to improve the conduct of education in their native countries. As one the speakers at this Cambridge International Education Conference (CIEC), Lee Havis presented the IMS application of scientific education for creating Montessori’s visionary “true natural” reality in the world.
In his presentation, Lee introduced the innovative IMS “technology” of scientific education as the key practical means and guidance for co-creating this hopeful new reality with young children. A highlight of this presentation was orienting the delegates to the distinctive “frequency” of this new reality, and how to tune into and resonate with this frequency for its effective communication with children.
Lee also emphasized his presentation as an experience that delegates could most effectively internalize through several practical exercises, such as by practicing the key “eye contact” technique as a way to “notice without judgment”. In addition, several other techniques and protocols were demonstrated for resolving misbehavior by observing the young child as a cluster of energy through the lens of the “individual child framework”.
The conference also afforded opportunity for much personal dialogue and discussion with individual delegates. From this experience, Lee stated, “I’m hopeful that many of the delegates will begin using the technology with children, and share this powerful knowledge to staff and others in their own networks of educators and schools. I was especially pleased that several delegates obtained a copy of my new ‘technology’ book, which will be so useful in their continuing scientific experiments for creating the unique “true natural” reality more widely in society with others.”
Lee plans to offer an extended and amplified version of his Cambridge conference presentation to a wider audience in the form of a two-day weekend workshop, entitled “Creating the ‘True Natural’ Reality”. This IMS workshop will employ the basic format he used successfully at the CIEC conference in Cambridge, except with more extensive experience and content. The first workshop presentation of this type is being planned for Wichita, Kansas in April, 2024.
