The clear direction technique is the teacher telling a child to do something. A relatively heavy tool, it most often involves some verbal interaction, such as a safe word phrase, “Come over here,” “Watch” or “Take my hand.” However, it can also be non-verbal, such as a hand gesture command indicating to “go” or “come”Â
