The International Montessori Society (IMS) represents “true natural” Montessori teaching in the world, providing its members with a network of services, communication and association to help support Dr. Montessori’s great vision of a “new education” in the world.   This support comes through informative periodicals, teacher education, workshops, consultation, recognition of Montessori schools and other specialized services to help teachers, schools, and parents follow “true natural” Montessori teaching that is committed to laws of nature, rather than conventional Montessori teaching that is bound to “personality” or “culture”. Focus of this support is learning to employ the unique IMS technology which enables anyone to conduct “true natural” Montessori teaching in an objective, scientific manner that was never possible before.
IMS membership is offered in three categories, individual, associate school, and Montessori school. All IMS members receive the regular IMS periodicals, the “Montessori observer” (4 times per year), and the “Montessori News” (2 times per year). The publication provide current information about IMS activities and progress of the “new education”, as well as technical support for parents and educators to employ the unique IMS technology for scientific Montessori teaching.
IMS members and associates also benefit from social media outreach with others in the international Montessori community, such as through the IMS facebook discussion, “Montessori Tools and Tips”. In addition, IMS provides occasional e-news contact to provide information and news through internet and web-based communication.
