Character Teaching in India
In February, 2007, Lee Havis held a series of
meetings in Mumbai and Bangalore, India to
discuss the Character Teaching (CT) project in
that country. In Bangalore, he met with K.R.
Dharmadhikary (Lok Sevak Sangh, New Delhi)
and Indrani Roy and Smita Kalappa of Smile
Foundation. In Mumbai, Lee met with Ganesh
Sharma and other members of the board of
Yash Creative Education Trust (Ahmednagar,
Maharashtra). (see photo)

In 2009, Suja Saikumar, Sudev Suchan and Vishwas Wamanaro Bansode joined the CT board. Suja is a native Tamil Nadu, residing presently in Aradia, CA (USA). She is completing training for Montessori teaching in the IMS teacher education program and is coordinating efforts to obtain letters of support for the project throughout public and private agencies in the country. Sudev is a director of a Montessori school Karnataka and has written a letter of support for the CT project. Vishwas
